36. F
前文提到“Have you ever visited a garden that seemed just right for you, where the atmosphere of the garden appeared to total more than the sum(总和) of its parts?”(你是否曾参观过一个似乎非常适合你的花园,那里的氛围似乎超过了其各部分的总和?),描述了一种令人愉悦的花园体验。
F选项“You can produce that kind of magical atmosphere in your own garden, too”(你也可以在自己的花园里营造出那种神奇的氛围),与前文提到的令人愉悦的花园体验相呼应,表明读者也可以在自己的花园中实现类似的体验,逻辑连贯。
37. A
后文提到“Some people may think that a garden is no more than plants, flowers, patterns and masses of color. Others are concerned about using gardening methods that require less water and fewer fertilizers
38. E
前文提到“Some people...
E选项“Still others may simply enjoy being outdoors and close to plants”(还有一些人可能只是喜欢待在户外,靠近植物),继续补充了另一种人对园艺的看法,与前文的列举结构一致,逻辑连贯。
39. C
前文提到“Our model of what a garden should be often goes back to childhood. Grandma's rose garden and Dad’s vegetable garden might be good or bad, but that’s not what’s important.”(我们对花园应该是什么样子的印象往往可以追溯到童年。
40. G
前文提到“If you'd like to build a powerful bond with your garden, start by taking some time to recall the gardens of your youth.”(如果你想与你的花园建立深厚的联系,那就花些时间回忆一下你年轻时的花园。)
G选项“For each of those gardens, write down the strongest memory you have”(对于每一个花园,写下你最深刻的记忆),承接前文回忆童年花园的内容,进一步说明要写下最深刻的记忆,为后文做铺垫,逻辑连贯。
